London : Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) UK chapter, Prem Gaha Magar, has made announced that he will run for the post of President of the NRNA UK.
He made the announcement to contest for the post of NRNA UK president for the tenure of 2019 to 2021) during a program at Nottingham. He also thanked all the supporters for electing him as Vice President during 2017- 2019.
Prem, who was born in Gulmi, Tamghas, in West Nepal was a national boxing champion from 1993 to 1995 and served in the national team of Nepal.
After his retirement form the Brigade of Gurkhas of the British Army in 2008, Magar has been serving the Nepali community through a number of charitable deeds.
As the charity coordinator of the NRNA UK, he has organised a number of charity events to support various philanthropic acts.
Among the charity events coordinated by Prem include Disability Charity evening to support and promote disabled people where 25 war heroes disabled veterans and artists with disability performed their talent. They were also awarded and honoured by the NRNA UK. Similarly, he successfully organised a Charity Dinner in Birmingham with the artists of Voice of Nepal. He raised donations to send the body of Lekh Rana to Nepal. He also organised a charity event of boxing in which WBA world boxer John Writer world ranking 2,3 who played wearing NRNA logo.
“The gap between seniors and youths should be eliminated hence I am the right candidate to work on the favour of youth. Sports, music and entertainment are the key to attract youths in NRNA. Discouraging politics, caste, race and certain geography based politics are my agenda. I request all youths living in the UK to be member of NRNA and elect youth friendly candidate like me for change,” Prem Gaha Magar said.
